Dry mix shotcrete process

In the dry-mix shotcrete process, cement, sand and aggregate are mixed without water, and then placed into shotcrete machine hopper, use compressed air to convey dry material from the machine through the hose to the nozzle where water is added. The water thoroughly wets the other ingredients as the mixture is jetted from the nozzle at high velocity onto the surface to be shotcreted.

In the wet-mix shotcrete process, all ingredients are first mixed with water to produce concrete in mixer. The concrete is then placed into shotcrete machine hopper. The material is forced through a delivery hose by compressed air to the nozzle where accelerator is added.

Dry mix shotcrete machine is very suitable for slope-protection, compared with wet shotcrete machine, dry mix shotcrete machine lower construction costs, only need extra air compressor and water pump. Air compressor is mainly used for providing need compressed air, while water pump is used for provide water on the nozzle.
