Pea stone shotcrete machine
Pea stone shotcrete machines must be capable of spraying concrete containing pebbles (typically 5-20mm in size). Their pumping system must thoroughly mix the aggregate with cement slurry using high pressure (10-25 MPa), ensuring a shotcrete layer density of ≥95%.
Main application scenarios include:
Tunnel/mine support: Spraying pebbles to create a flexible support layer that adapts to geological deformation.
Slope reinforcement: Spraying fiber-reinforced concrete containing pebbles to improve shear strength.
Building exterior wall restoration: Spraying pebbles to create a finishing layer for enhanced durability.
The pea stone shotcrete machine, used with TBMs (Tunnel Boring Machines), is a wet shotcrete system designed specifically for tunnel and mine construction. It efficiently sprays concrete containing pebbles (particle size 5-20mm), meeting the support requirements of complex geological conditions.

Can pea stone be used in shotcrete?
Traditionally, shotcrete uses fine to medium aggregates (usually sand and small gravel up to about 3/8 inch). Pea stone can be used, but with some considerations:
Aggregate Size: Pea stone is generally acceptable if it meets the maximum aggregate size requirements for the specific shotcrete application and equipment. Most shotcrete machines handle aggregates up to 3/8 inch (10 mm), so smaller pea gravel fits within this range.
Workability and Rebound: Using rounded pea stone may affect the mix’s workability and increase rebound (material that bounces off the surface during application) if not properly designed.
Mix Design: The shotcrete mix must be carefully designed to ensure proper adhesion, strength, and durability when using pea stone. This includes the right cement-to-aggregate ratio, water content, and use of accelerators.

Functions and advantages of pea stone shotcrete machine:
1. Material Adaptability
It can spray concrete containing aggregates such as pebbles and fibers, typically with aggregate sizes of 15-20mm, meeting the density and shear strength requirements of flexible tunnel support layers.
2. Efficient Construction
Spraying Capacity: This shotcrete machine has a spraying capacity of 9.5 m³/h, capable of completing hundreds of square meters of support work per day.
Transport Distance: Horizontal transport ranges of 80-300 meters, making it suitable for long-distance tunnel construction.
3. Optimized Quality
Low Rebound Rate: The wet shotcrete process boasts a rebound rate of ≤12%, reducing material waste by over 50% compared to dry shotcrete. High density: The density of the sprayed layer is ≥95%, the impermeability is increased by 30%, and it can adapt to geological deformation.
